Rethink your drink Is Sugar Good or Bad? volleyball

My father was diagnosed with adult onset diabetes in his mid-forties. It is my belief that he came across the disease because of poor diet and lack of exercise. It’s what got me into my nutrition and exercise kick.

I believe sugar does benefit endurance athletes and even volleyball players in an extended match, but I think sugar on a daily basis can have a negative effect on the body, especially in excess. Anything in excess is not good. Leading a balanced lifestyle is the key.

I found a couple recent NY Times articles about sugar. One is pro-sugar one is con-sugar.
