June is an awesome month for volleyball as tens-of-thousands of girls from across the country will descend upon a couple cities to compete for a National Championship at AAU’s in Orlando or USAV in Minneapolis. It’s a great time of year, but the real challenge is that each player on these teams is playing for the right reason…for the love of the game, for the opportunity to compete, and to be involved in a great environment. For those playing for a scholarship to emerge from one of these national champions and/or the entire club season, that is the wrong reason and the odds are stacked WAY against you.
Per NCAA Research, less than 4% of all high school volleyball players will play volleyball at some level in college, less than 2% will earn a scholarship, and less than 1% will earn a Division I scholarship.
Play a sport because you love it. Have fun at Nationals and Good luck!
