Having played club volleyball at Arizona State and coached a great group of guys at Georgia Southern, I am very encouraged at the continuation of the Men’s Club Volleyball scene in the Southeast. Men’s Club Volleyball in college is very marginally (if at all) sponsored by each college. The guys have to raise their own travel, uniform, and equipment money. There is a women’s club volleyball scene for colleges that also falls under the same premise. The Collegiate Volleyball Club scene hosts a National Championship every year which can be found here: Nirsa.org.
The Men’s Volleyball scene is a special camaraderie. Men’s Collegiate Club Tournaments often allow boys junior teams and adult men’s team to enter. The goal is to get the best competition while also providing opportunities to all levels and ages. I believe the special camaraderie is trickles all the way up to the National Team level. Although there are quite a few less men and boys playing volleyball in the United States (in comparison to other countries), the United States Men’s Team have won the Gold Medal in 1984, 1988, and 2008 in indoor and in 1996, 2000, and 2008 in the sand.
If you are looking to play indoor volleyball in the southeast, here is a list of tournaments found on the Men’s Club Volleyball of the Southeast facebook page:

Also, keep up with Southern Storm Volleyball, a boys volleyball club out of Atlanta. Good people there 😉
